No-one could dispute the magnificence of the renovation of this 18th century hospital and French national historic building. We stayed there for 6 nights in a duplex suite in August 2019 whilst exploring the area on our bikes. There are still some snagging issues with the hotel, and other more basic problems they will have to sort out before they can aspire to be truly 5*. In the meantime, their most valuable assets are the building and their staff.
We inferred the hotel may not have been open long as it felt the problems we did have (no bedding for the infant bed and no ability to get any, and no towels in room or spa) were down to that - once these get ironed out the hotel is 5* luxury - the bar area, the rooms and the pool were all fabulous.
The staff in the front desk, doesn’t know about the different types of breakfast you have (the lady that attended me, said that to me by the phone). I ask for the express breakfast (that was 8€), and the lady give me a paper to mark all the food we el want to bring us to the room. I didn’t know that they give me the regular breakfast that was 16€!. So just for butter and cereals (that my kid didn’t eat it anyway) I was paying doble price!!, I realize that I was paying the doble when I receive the bill!!.
The staff, including the lady that didn’t know about the different breakfast, are very gently and kind, they always have a beauty smile.
The hotel is charming, with beautiful gardens, and many spots to relax.
A very nice place to stay a few days. The breakfast buffet was very varied. The dinner and the menu selection were excellent. The furnishings of the rooms and the dining room really correspond to a chateau. The hotel makes a clean and neat impression. Only markel the air circulation in the bath, it had molds.
We always try to stay at Le Montrachet after our summer stay at our house in the Gorges du Tarn, it usually coincides with our wedding anniversary. We find the stay very enjoyable, with excellent food and accommodation.
Despite the small dimensions of the room, it was very confortable and with all you need in a holiday. A realy boutique hotel! The bed was very good, all you need in the bathroom and we have a bonus, a nice balcony! The garden where we can have breakfast is realy adorable! A plus, the hotel is on a quietly street in the very center of the town, near Pantheon, Jardin Louxembourg, and public transport (metro, RER - for conection with other public lines) or Sorbona. Parking in nearby and a lot of restaurants for all taste are also a plus.
We had an absolutely amazing experience here. The pre-booking communication from the hotel ensured a seamless arrival and early bookings for several activities. On arrival, the reception staff were very warm and welcoming, fluent in English and other languages and gladly assisted with phone calls to change some arrangements. The wine tasting at a local winery was superb… but the highlight was a chef’s cooking class! The Head Chef, Jean Alain was wonderful…so warm and genuinely interested in teaching some culinary skills. An absolute rock-star! And the class’ English translator Marco, (himself a chef) who was arranged especially for us was superb… again, very warm and very knowledgeable! The restaurant and the Bistro were different experiences and equally enjoyable. Overall, the castle’s magnificent rooms and setting were complemented by exceptional staff!
Easy to find and just minutes away from the jardin du Luxembourg, this small hotel is reasonably priced, has a satisfying continental breakfast, good rooms and friendly staff. Situated just off a busy junction, there is minimal traffic noise at night but the location enables you to access the Latin quarter, the metro, the garden of course and many excellent cafes and restaurants.
We come here for more than 6 years now - at least once a year sometimes more often. And the food is always just perfect. The service is impeccable and the whole experience including our obligatory bottles of Champagne just divine. We can only recommend it and cannot praise it enough.
We stay at the Chateau for more than 8 years now - at least once a year, sometimes more often. And its a perfect location, lovely service, magnificient view. It retains that charm of a Chateau which is important. We love to stay at the Orangerie as this is the easiest access to the Restaurant and they manage to give us a different room each time which is really nice.
Our deluxe room with a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake was beyond words. Hotel Room was excellent for a couple; it was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, despite our lack of knowledge of French language. The Restaurant was so good, we ended up eating most meals there. Highly recommend the perche and Chateaubriand! Breakfast was great as well. The staff helped arrange our travel back to Geneva Airport and provided us with superior service always with a smile.

An excellent hotel that I would recommend unreservedly. The staff were friendly (and helpful above and beyond), the rooms were clean, comfortable and modern, and the location is unrivalled in this part of the Loire. Special mention goes to the breakfast: in all my years of travelling in Europe, this is the best breakfast I've ever had on the continent. Brilliant experience in all respects!
We had dinner here two nights during our stay - food and service were lovely. We ate one night on the terrace overlooking the trout pond and once inside. Both venues were nice. Price fixed dinner menu was prepared and presented exactly as ordered.
Breakfast on the terrace in mornings was more of a disappointment as choices were limited and seldom replenished.
Chateau Etoges was a very nice experience. We spent two nights in the actual chateau. The rooms were clean and we loved the fact that each was so different. Appreciated the modernization in bathroom. Water pressure on our floor was not the best, but that was not a big problem. We really enjoyed our dinner. Food was delicious and beautifully presented, service excellent. Such a treat to sip champagne on the patio, so relaxing and luxurious. Our only negative would be that concierage service seems to be lacking. Very little help with booking champagne tours or getting advice about where to go in the area. We were directed to pamphlets and told to call ourselves. A little surprising, we expected more.
Nice room, very comfortable bed. Nice breakfast selection with specialty artisanal produce.
Plus for everything. My gripes: plastic cups to hold tooth brush were not stable at all and everything keeps falling off. Not sure why plastic is being used when the hotel states that they are eco friendly. More plastic less washing??? The cups given for coffee and tea is paper cup... rather strange. There is only coffee and earl grey tea selection in the room. Bottled water is replenished though.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. Elegant and stylish without being stuffy. Very comfortable, large and well appointed room with a gorgeous view. The pool was stunning. Excellent restaurant. Staff were welcoming, helpful and discrete. I'd love to say here again. It was truly exceptional.
