« Allow yourself to be enthralled by the seventh generation of chefs in this legendary Pyrenean residence »

Description of the establishment

Located near Lourdes and the spa resorts, this fine establishment looks a little like a doll's house. It looks onto a pleasant square in the village of Saint-Savin. The Saint-Martin family welcome guests keen to discover the High Pyrenees (National Park, Cirque de Gavarnie, Col du Tormalet, etc...). Superb cuisine, peace and quiet ensure a memorable stay. Tastefully decorated rooms looking onto the mountains. Dishes with forgotten flavours can be enjoyed on the flower-decked terrace or near the hearth, in the lounge, in winter. Cooking lessons, and a wide range of leisure options available locally.

Le Viscos
An amazing place to stay and have dinner.
4.8
An amazing place in the heart of the Pyrénées with such a lovely family managing it. I strongly recommend this institution of food and friendliness.
Le Viscos
Overnight stay in middle of pyrenees
4.5
Comfortable hotel with a good restaurant. Great for overnight stay while driving through the Pyrenees. Although difficult to find. Navigation system in car could not find the town.

We've eaten/stayed at le Viscos several times in 10 years, always superb. This time we were quite disappointed. We had no choice for either course of the meal, (however both were very good). Everyone else seemed to have an avant dessert, we didn't. The Délice au chocolat, supposedly for my birthday, was very simple and ordinary. The wine was extremely expensive. For what we were given, we thought the meal was very expensive and disappointing. Breakfast - there was no-one attending. M Saint-Martin was on the phone most of the time. a guest had twice to ask for the orange juice to be filled up. There was no tea at all. The cold milk was used up and not replaced. Sadly we are unlikely to come back to Le Viscus.
