It is a comfortable and pleasant country hotel. My only minor criticism is that, at Euros 14 per person, breakfast is really overpriced for a continental breakfast ie nothing cooked offered
Hostellerie des 7 Molles
Delightful old-fashioned hospitality

L'Hostellerie des Sept Molles is a wonderfully relaxing hotel full of generously old-fashioned comfort and charm. The setting is lovely: lush meadowland surrounded by thickly wooded low hills which are the gentle beginnings of the very grand Pyrenees. Plenty of trees to read under in the sun and a beautiful pool. Comfy sitting rooms if the weather turns bad.. Gilles and Catherine Ferran are superb hosts, for whom nothing is too much trouble..The area is full of little hamlets and country lanes, and the outstanding UNESCO-listed churches at Valcabrere and St Bertrand-de-Comminges are only 15 minutes away. In 90 minutes you can be gasping at the griffon vultures wheeling above the valleys as you ascend the Pic du Midi de Bigorre by cable-car (8500 feet).

This is a hotel of great charm, peace and quiet, with an owner-manager who is really hands on, and for whom nothing is too much trouble. The pool and gardens are lovely (not that common in the central Pyrenees) and the chef knows how to produce a delicious and interesting menu with local ingredients. The breakfasts (French, not the ubiquitous buffet) are particularly good, especially the patisserie. If you want to walk or cycle, there are well-signposted routes near at hand. Equally, if you enjoy music, there are concerts at St Bertrand (~15min easy drive away) most weeks between mid-July and mid-September.

This was perhaps the most beautiful hotel I have stayed in. The landlady was charming and the dinner was excellent. However, the double bed was made up of two singles which created a ridge in the middle and the room was stuffy during the night. A portable fan could probably resolve this problem.
