Description of the establishment

At first there are medieval towers to introduce this 15th-century castle, which was converted into a charming hotel during the 19th century. Surrounded with a romantic park where magnolias and catalpas grow, it is made up of three outbuildings overlooking the Challes-les-Eaux Valley and its spas. This noble residence has subtly embraced the benefits of modernity through comfortably equipped guest rooms and suites, and the garden's heated pool. The various dining rooms are very appealing with their period fireplaces, their centennial supporting beams, stone pillars and authentic floorboards. chef Pascal Colliat serves artistically presented cuisine that will delight your taste buds.

Château des Comtes de Challes
A beautiful Chateau and a fabulous place to stay
4.8
This was our 4th visit to this beautiful chateau and is one of our favourite places. Well manicured gardens and a haven of peace to sit under the trees with lovely views. Extremely friendly helpful staffand very accomodating when I requested a change of room. Exceptional dinner on the terrace, the Chef always caters for my husbands Gluten allery, much appreciated. It was a pleasure talking to the Somelier who spend time in England. We will return next year and would highly recommend.

Perfect place to stay!
4.7
I had been to an event here and once for dinner and when it came time to book a place for our anniversary I thought it would be nice to stay overnight. We had a lovely room, were greeted nicely upon arrival and enjoyed the pool and views on a hot July day. Afterwards we attended the Vin Cave for the degustation from 6pm - 6:45 and then we had a dinner and concert inside the main dining room at 7:30pm. The dinner concert was a Django trio and they were incredible. The castle is great! I had read some reviews and was a little nervous about staying there, but can confirm it is a perfect place for couples, families and travelers alike. I think people need to remember that it indeed a Chateau and is historic. That being said, it can naturally have issues to preserve it. The garden grounds are lovely and the management does a wonderful job to make each guest feel welcome. Our stay was lovely and we can't wait to return.
